Even those experiencing The Japanese Way of Tea for the first time can joyfully learn
the spirit of Japanese tea ceremony with Tea Master.

※If you wish to book Tea ceremony with kimono rental, we kindly request that you visit Yumeyakata Gojo shop approximately 2 hours before the scheduled start time of the Tea ceremony session.
※At Yumeyakata Gojo shop, after selecting and dressing in your kimono, and completing hairstyling, please proceed to Yumeyakata Oikebettei(Tea house) by taxi or subway.

Experience the Japanese Tea Master's Way of Tea
About 20minutes
You can observe Japanese Tea ceremony led by Tea Master up close. Moreover, through the Tea Master's explanations on the history and meaning of Tea ceremony, as well as descriptions of each utensil, you can achieve a deeper understanding of the Japanese Tea ceremony. You will have time to discuss impressions, emotions, questions, and more with fellow participants while experiencing the traditional Tea ceremony.
Experience the spirit of Omotenashi in Japanese Tea ceremony
About 30 minutes
After hearing about the spirit of Omotenashi(おもてなし) in Japanese Tea ceremony, you will pair up in groups of two to create Matcha with heartfelt consideration for each other.
Additionally, you will have time to enjoy the tea prepared by your partner in accordance with traditional tea Ceremony etiquette.
Learn traditional manners in the tea room.

You will have the opportunity to directly experience basic etiquette required in the Way of Tea, the spirit of Ichigo ichie(一期一会), and methods for enjoying Matcha in the tea room.
The goal is to deepen your understanding of the meanings embedded in each movement of the Tea ceremony.

You will have the opportunity to learn from the teachings of Sen no Rikyu(千利休), who symbolizes the essence of Japanese Tea Ceremony through the guidance of the Tea Master.
Additionally, you will have time to contemplate methods for effectively inheriting the core spirit of Japanese Tea Ceremony into business setting and cultivating mindfulness in daily life.

Professor of Urasenke · Aya Suzuki
Born in Osaka in 1964. Went to Kyoto from teenager and learned Urasenke tea ceremony. Being fascinated by the deep spirituality of the tea ceremony and the underlying philosophy, she moved on to the path with the passionate desire to convey the goodness of the tea ceremony to many people. Not only tea ceremony, but also Japanese culture "calligraphy" and "flower ceremony", also proficiency in the master class.
Hobbies are hot yoga and walking around Kyoto. She think that "to study the tea ceremony is to sharpen the mind and to learn the way of life", so she is working hard every day.
